The M2M Philosophy

After following dozens of training plans over the years, I've discovered that the best plan is the one you're willing and excited to do. It sounds simple, but the reality is that if you dread your workouts, you won't show up, and you won't get results.

I believe that you can train hard and enjoy the journey at the same time.  Training should prepare you physically and mentally, while also providing frequent opportunities to build confidence through incremental victories.

Benefits of Having a Coach

Free online training plans are great for completely average people who never miss a workout and always hit their pace targets perfectly every time. This doesn't describe anyone I've ever met, which is probably why two people can follow the exact same plan for the exact same race and somehow end up with vastly different results.

​

A good coach will consider your unique fitness abilities, racing history, goals, and preferences. They'll monitor your progress to know when to push a little harder, and when to hit the brakes with some extra recovery to avoid burnout. Above all else, they will be an accountability partner and advocate along the way who truly desires to see you succeed. Coaching is not a one-directional relationship; it is a partnership.
